DeKalb Concrete was founded in 2024 by a crew that had been working concrete in northern Illinois for years and wanted to do things the right way - no shortcuts, no cutting corners on base prep, and no disappearing after the check clears. DeKalb is a city with real character: the barbed wire capital of the world, home to Northern Illinois University, and full of neighborhoods where families have lived for generations.
The housing stock here is older than most people realize. A lot of those driveways, patios, and sidewalks were poured back in the 1950s and 1960s - and they have been taking a beating from DeKalb winters ever since. Clay soil, freeze-thaw cycles, and years of road salt do not forgive sloppy work.
